Philippians 4:21-23

As the Apostle Paul gives his closing statements for this letter “To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with the bishops and deacons” (Philippians 1:1, NKJV), he gives instructions to “Greet every saint in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:21) and then gives greetings from those who are with him. He gives a note that some of those in Caesar’s household have been saved (Philippians 4:22) and then gives the Philippians blessings in Christ Jesus in his closing as he also gave in his greeting.

This is an example of reflecting Christ Jesus through our lives.

This is a great example of how our greeting one another in Christ should be; with blessings for one another, which leads to the ultimate blessing in our reflection of Jesus to our Father in heaven who is then glorified through our lives – in Christ. It is a chain reaction of blessing that fills everyone’s heart, soul, and mind with the proper attitude of a Christian. Paul has stated in Philippians 2:2, “fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.” He continues in Philippians 2:5 by explaining the mind that should be in us as he declares, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” The question then arises of “How do we have the mind of Christ Jesus?” We put Him first in our lives as we submit our will to His will and begin following as He directs our paths. Paul states in Romans 10:9-10, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Jesus will guide our every step if we will make Him our Lord and Savior. He will send His Holy Spirit to live within our hearts to help us every step of the way as we call on the name of Jesus (John 1:12-13; 14:15-18).

Dear LORD,

The blessings of a greeting in the name of Jesus lights up our day and our night with the inner glow of Your Holy Spirit working and living within us. Please help us to be of the same mind as that of our Savior Christ Jesus as we greet one another – In Christ. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
