Colossians 1:27-29
God has allowed the saints to experience the “riches of the glory” which is Christ in us, or salvation in Christ, even for the Gentiles. “Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily” (Colossians 1:28–29, NKJV). I typed these last two sentences out because that is what I believe every person who is called to the ministry of Christ should feel in his or her heart, mind, and soul.
This is a promise of the “riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27).
This is a command to strive to present every man perfect in Christ Jesus according to His working which works in us mightily (Colossians 1:28–29).
Jesus declares in John 6:44, “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.” It is by God’s will that He calls us to Himself as He prompts us throughout our lives. He prompts us through His Holy Spirit through the conscious decisions we make every day. We all know right from wrong—Satan strives to pull us to do the things that we know are wrong, while God convicts us of wrong and leads us down the paths of righteousness (Psalm 23:3). God does not force us to follow Him, but if we submit our obedience to Him, He will “make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27).
Dear God,
Give us the passion and desire to continue learning Your Word so that we will retain this information and continue to grow in our relationship with You every day. I pray that You will use us all to spread the gospel of Christ within our own communities and around the world. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
