Titus 3:12-14
In Titus 3:12-14 the Apostle Paul is giving instructions for his ministry team. Paul knew that his success as a missionary and evangelist was not success for himself but had been given to him from God and was intended to spread through the help of others.
This is a promise that no individual is successful themselves, but that God provides the people around us to support and advance with us together – in Christ.
Before Jesus ascended to heaven (Acts 1:9), His disciples were anxious for His instructions as to what would become of them and if Jesus would immediately restore the kingdom of Israel (Acts 1:6). The instructions that Jesus left them with were not of immediate action but of their sharing the message of the gospel throughout the world (Acts 1:8). This would not be accomplished by them alone, but would require a transforming of many lives, including the Apostle Paul (Acts 9), and a continued transforming of lives through salvation in Christ Jesus and the leading of His Holy Spirit in our lives (John 14:15-18, 26).
Dear LORD,
As we listen to our priests and pastors, please help us to be aware that they are teaching us how to be witnesses for Jesus, that others would come to You through our example and Christ-centered attitudes. Please help us to always remember that we too are Your disciples in the world today. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
