Romans 8:34

The Apostle Paul throws a forth question at us in this list that is meant to give God all the glory, credit, and power in our lives in our salvation through His one and only Son Jesus.  Paul asks us in Romans 8:34 (NKJV), “Who is he who condemns?  It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.”  Paul has in the preceding verse of Romans 8:33 asked us, “Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect?  It is God who justifies.”

This is a promise that the justification in which we have in Christ can not be condemned.

It is God who justifies us, and Christ Jesus makes intercession for us at the right hand of God, so who is it that can condemn us in the presence of Almighty God who has justified us?  The point here is to plead the obvious…no one can condemn us who are in Christ Jesus!  God is the ultimate authority and He sent His one and only Son Jesus to save us from sin if we will put our faith in Him.  Jesus intercedes for us in the areas in which we are weak in our faith that is still yet genuine in this sinful world.  Jesus is our Savior.  Jesus intercedes to God for us.  Jesus has promised to send us His Holy Spirit to live within us and be our guide to live everlasting.  No one can take that away from us who put and keep our faith and focus on Jesus.

Dear LORD,

You are Almighty God and ultimate in Your word.  Please give us strength to put and keep our faith and focus on Jesus, our Savior and the One who intercedes for us at Your Right hand for eternity – in Christ.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
