Romans 8:32

God gives us an example of what is to come in Genesis 22 as He calls Abraham to offer his son as a sacrifice in showing his faithfulness to God.  But God prevented Abraham from sacrificing his son once God saw that the faith of Abraham was truly in Him.  God then provided a ram for Abraham to sacrifice as a substitute instead of his son.  Genesis 22:14 (NKJV) states, “And Abraham called the name of the place, The-LORD-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, ‘In the Mount of the LORD it shall be provided.’”

When the time was right in the eyes of the LORD, He provided His one and only Son Jesus as a sacrifice in our rightful place to death for our sins.  He did not at the last moment remove His Son and provide another, as there is no other sacrifice to save us from sin, death, and Satan.  God provided for Abraham and He provides for us in that He only requires our faith in Him unto salvation and life everlasting (John 3:16-17).  Everything that we need to have eternal life and freedom from the wiles of the devil is found in Christ Jesus, if we will put and keep our faith in Him.  The Apostle Paul declares in Romans 8:32, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”

This is a promise that all things unto salvation and eternal life are found in Christ Jesus.

There are many “things” in this earthly world that we all seek in our search for the fulfillment that only comes through opening our hearts to God’s Holy Spirit in accepting that Jesus died for our sins that we may live through Him.  But the things of this world are only temporary and will vanish as quickly as they came.  The “things” that fill our hearts with true satisfaction and completeness of heart are only found in Jesus – in opening our hearts to Jesus and inviting Him in to live within us and cleanse us from the sin that hides there.  It is impossible to put our faith in the things of this world and find true fulfillment in them; they will always fade away and we will find ourselves seeking something else to fill the spot in our hearts that continues to seek true fulfillment.  Open your heart to Jesus today and you will find what your heart truly seeks that will never fade away.

Dear LORD,

You have provided everything that we need to find true fulfillment of our hearts.  Please open our eyes to Jesus and the salvation that only He can provide unto life eternal that we would live the lives that You have in store for us – in Christ.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
