Romans 3:27-31

Paul brings up the question of, since God is the just One and the Justifier of all who have faith in Him, who then, is justified in boasting?  He then answers the question for us in proclaiming that boasting has no place in the life of one who has proclaimed their faith in God through Jesus as it is He who has done all the work in providing our salvation.  Paul tells us that this is not excluded by way of the law, but by way of faith.  Then, in Romans 3:28 (NKJV) states, “Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.”

The Apostle Paul then brings into question whether God is the God of the Jews only, or if He is also the God of the Gentiles.  This question Paul gives answer to by proclaiming as God justifies the Jews by faith, He also justifies the Gentiles through faith (Romans 3:30).  Through this, Paul states in Romans 3:31, “Do we then make void the law through faith?  Certainly not!  On the contrary, we establish the law.”  Through the revelation of how the law is intended by God to work with faith to lead humanity to Him through the knowledge of sin and the only means by which we may overcome it is the validation of it – in Christ Jesus!

This is a command, example, and promise of how the law works together with/in faith for all who put their faith in God through salvation in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Before we can be justified in the eyes of God, we must acknowledge the reason why we need to be justified.  In the law is the knowledge of sin (Romans 3:20), and without the knowledge of sin we have no means to seek justification by any means.  But in coming to an understanding that we all have sin in our lives in need of being redeemed, we then begin to seek justification.  Where we go wrong is in trying/striving to justify ourselves as sin cannot justify itself but only give excuses.  The Apostle Paul tells us in Romans 1:20-21 that we all are without excuse to acknowledge God’s great attributes as His greatness is clearly seen in nature.  Without excuse, we can only bring ourselves to the foot of the cross and acknowledge the work that God did for us through His Son Jesus on the cross and in His resurrection.  He Paid for our sins.  He is our justifier.  He is our redeemer.  Put your faith in Jesus today and invite Him into your heart and ask of His forgiveness and you too will be saved – if you believe – in Christ!

Dear LORD,

We have no excuse to not acknowledge You as our redeemer and justifier.  You are the God of all peoples through faith.  Please help us to understand and acknowledge Your great revelation through nature and through our faith in Jesus that we may be truly Your children –through faith – in Christ Jesus.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
