Romans 3:22d-26

Romans 3:22d-26 is one very long but very important sentence.  In it, Paul tells us that everyone has sinned and is unworthy of God’s glory.  But in this same sentence Paul tells us that we are all justified freely by God’s grace to us through being redeemed in Jesus Christ.  And Paul continues to inform us that it is Jesus whom God made to be the propitiation (which means to regain favor) for humanity by the shedding of His blood to pay the price for sin (which is death (Romans 6:23a).  God did this to show the world that He is righteous, and that He is the just One, and that He is the justifier of everyone who has faith in Jesus.  All of this is found in Romans 3:22d-26.  I believe that Paul continued this one sentence to include all the information that it does to show us that it is all included in the act of God to save the world from sin (John 3:16-17).

This is a promise that God is the Redeemer, Justifier, and Savior of all who will put their faith in Him.

There is no difference; we all have sinned.  We cannot find fault/sin in everyone else around us in a way that will redeem us or make us any better than them.  But if we will put our faith in Jesus, that He has done the work that sets us back into a right standing with God; that He paid our price for sin by dying on the cross, and that He redeems us through His resurrection from the dead to life eternal, we will be justified through Him and put back on the road in which God will see favor on us.  If we believe that God is the one who is just and that He is the one who gives us justification in His eyes, and not by anything that we have done or will do because God wants us to know that our salvation is a free gift that He offers to us for believing in Him and giving Him our faithful attention as our maker and redeemer.  God gives us His love and He wants us to give our love to Him – it really is that simple, but the catch is that it must be sincere as God is sincere to us, we too must be committed to Him and following His will for our lives – in Christ.

Dear LORD,

The Apostle Paul puts it all in one sentence in Romans 3:22d-26 as if to not let anyone question any one part as he has included all parts of putting our faith in You and the redemption that is found only in Your Son, our Savior Jesus.  Please help us to see that there is nothing that we can do to earn Your gift to us as Your gift to us of being redeemed through Jesus is a free gift because You love us.  Please convict us to a sincere point of giving our due respect and love to You and accept Your free gift to us by opening our hearts to Jesus and receiving Your Holy Spirit to new life – in Christ Jesus, the Savior of the world!  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
