Romans 10:14b

This next question that Paul brings to us in Romans 10:14b shows us the responsibility that we have in keeping the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-47; John 20:21; and Acts 1:8).

This is an example of why we need to share the gospel and our testimony with others.

The apostles were the first missionaries during a time when the gospel was first commanded by Jesus to be shared with all nations.  As recorded in Matthew 28:19-20 (NKJV) Jesus commands, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. ‘Amen.’”

Jesus personally called His disciples to learn from Him in His ministry as is recorded in the four Gospel accounts of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.  After He ascended into heaven (Acts 1:9) His disciples were left to share the good news of the kingdom of heaven so that all the world could now become aware of the saving grace of God given through Christ Jesus; that all the world would be saved.  This has been passed on through the generations from all who have put their faith in God through believing in Christ Jesus.  Some are called specifically to share the gospel as a preacher, missionary, evangelist, worship leader, Sunday School teacher, or one of the other many ways in which God calls us to stand and be an example to all those that come in our daily path.  The point is that no one can hear the gospel message of the kingdom of heaven if no one tells them.  We, as Christians, are the voice of Jesus in our personal walk each day with Him to those in which we come in contact.  Jesus gives us strength to stand up for Him while yet being loving and compassionate to others.  Everyone will not be open to hear us, but we must remain examples of Jesus to them as that may be the very thing that they see in us that draws them to salvation in Christ Jesus.  He has promised to be with us always through His Holy Spirit if we will believe in Him (John 14:15-18, 26-27).

Dear LORD,

There are so many people in this world that have not heard of Your great saving grace through salvation in Your One and only Son Jesus.  Please help us to see that we are the eyes, arms, legs, and whole body of Christ Jesus in this world.  Please help us to be strong in our faith that we may stand and share the gospel with those in our daily walk with You that all may hear and be saved – in Christ.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
