Revelation 8:7

In the opening of the seventh seal of the scroll taken by the Lamb from the right hand of Him who sits on the throne of heaven is the recognition of seven angels who were given trumpets as they stand before God as if they are awaiting their call to duty (Revelation 8:2). The significance of the trumpets is that trumpets were utilized in the Old Testament to call the people together, to sound the battle cry, to announce the anointing of a king, and other important events. As the trumpets are sounded by these angels in heaven, God’s wrath on the earth is being announced, calling all people to repentance, and the recognizing of the King is being proclaimed.

As the first trumpet sounds, Revelation 8:7 (NKJV) declares, “7The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.” This bloody hail-fire will destroy only one-third of the trees as it burns up all the grass – it does not destroy everything, and no indication is given as to the destruction of human life.

This is a sign – a calling to repentance for everyone who witnesses this event to draw close to God in humble repentance with open hearts for Jesus to come in through His Holy Spirit and cleanse them from sin unto salvation from the end times as the wrath of God is beginning.

These events are taking place around the world today; forest fires that burn everything in their paths that begin from a strike of lightning. The devastation is felt by those in its path and is witnessed by those around the world through the technology of today. The time is close, and God is calling us all to repentance. Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins today, and be saved from God’s wrath to come.

Dear LORD,

We read about the signs and the happenings of the apocalypse in the Bible, Your Word. Please help us to realize and understand enough of it to bring us to repentance in humble submission to Your will for our lives that we would put our faith in Jesus – our Savior – the Savior of the world (John 1:29) and be saved from Your wrath that will be unleashed on this earthly world. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
