Revelation 8:13

In Revelation 8:13 (NKJV) the Apostle John sees and hears, “an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, “Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!”

As the seventh seal is opened from the scroll that was taken from the right hand of Him who sits on the throne of heaven, seven angels appeared before God and seven trumpets were given to them (Revelation 8:1-2). After another angel prepared a golden censer with fire from the altar and threw it to the earth (Revelation 8:3-5), the seven angels that were given the seven trumpets prepared to sound them. Four of them have sounded their trumpets in announcing a part of God’s wrath on the earth following each one. There is then a pause as another angel announces a warning before the last three angels sound the trumpets given to them as these three will release three more parts of God’s wrath on the earth in a much more devastating fashion.

This is the warning given in heaven to the inhabitants of the earth before the last three angels sound the trumpets given them to release the last three divisions of God’s wrath on the earth from the opening of the seventh seal from the scroll the Lamb has taken from the right hand of Him who sits on the throne of heaven.

There will be warning given for repentance before the results of the opening of the seventh seal is completed in the wrath of God on the inhabitants of the earth. Even in the giving of God’s wrath on those who have been disobedient to Him, He continues to call us to repentance. God is love (1 John 4:8, 16), and in His own character of being love in its pure form, is a desire to make things right. But God, in that pure character of love cannot force Himself upon us, He is held to His own purity that is truly giving in hope that we will answer His call on our lives. It is then that we will begin to understand just how much God loves us and wants to save us from His wrath. Put your faith in Jesus today and be saved from His wrath to come.

Dear LORD,

In Your being true justice, You will deliver Your wrath on those who remain disobedient to You. But in Your being true love, You will always have Your arms open wide to welcome all who will come to You with open and sincere hearts to receive Your forgiveness. Please save us and change us from our earthly selves to Your redeemed children forevermore. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
