Revelation 8:12
In Revelation 8:12 the fourth angel sounds the trumpet, and darkness came over a third of the sun, moon, and stars. Jesus declares in Matthew 24:29-31 (NKJV), “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”
This is the sounding of the trumpet by the fourth angel after the seventh seal has been opened from the scroll that the Lamb has taken from the right hand of Him who sits on the throne of heaven.
The events of the opening of the seven seals from the scroll that the Lamb has taken from the right hand of Him who sits on the throne of heaven seem daunting and are intended to lead us to repentance and salvation in Christ Jesus as we come to Him with sincere hearts ready to make a change in our lives and begin following His will for us, but we must also realize the importance and magnitude of these events. Jesus declares in Luke 21:25-28, “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
Dear LORD,
Through Your wrath being sent to this earth, we have reason to celebrate in Christ Jesus as our redemption draws near (Luke 21:28). Please help us to believe and put our faith in Christ Jesus unto salvation that we may escape these things and live in Your glory forever. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
