Revelation 6:3-4

As the Lamb opens the second seal, we read in Revelation 6:4 (NKJV), “4Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.” This is reflective of the Apostle Paul’s teaching in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 of the lawless one who will use unrighteous deception and strong delusion to those who live in unrighteousness. Zechariah 14:13 declares,

“It shall come to pass in that day

That a great panic from the LORD will

be among them.

Everyone will seize the hand of his

neighbor,

And raise his hand against his

neighbor’s hand;”

This second horse and rider in the deception involved may lead us to believe that the rider on the first horse could possibly weigh in favor of the antichrist as he rode out “conquering and to conquer” (Revelation 6:2).

This is the opening of the second seal from the scroll that the Lamb took from the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.

The evils of this deception and delusion are already at work in the world today. We see brother turning against brother, and neighbor fighting against neighbor. The Apostle Paul teaches us in 2 Thessalonians 2:7, “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.” Let us not be deceived by the delusions but hold tight to our Savior Jesus Christ and seek His will for our lives.

Dear LORD,

As we study about the seals of the scroll being removed, and the results be released on the earth, please help us to not fall to the deception and delusion of this world and the controversy that arises from it, but that we would be persuaded by it to draw closer to You through putting our faith in Christ Jesus, the Savior of the world, that we would have confidence in our Savior while living in a world that is so full of deceit and delusion. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
