Revelation 5:11-12

In Revelation 5:11-12 the scene of praise and singing is furthered by being surrounded by angels numbering in the realm of infinity as they say,

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain

To receive power and riches and wisdom,

And strength and honor and glory and

blessing!” (Revelation 5:12, NKJV).

This is an example of the magnitude of praise given to Jesus in heaven for His accomplishment of being the Lamb who was slain for the sins of man.

We have creatures representing the omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience of God, along with the twenty-four elders – all with bowls of the prayers of the saints – bowing down with songs of praise to Jesus. This is all surrounded by an number of angels that is innumerable speaking praise to the Lamb that was slain to redeem every tribe and tongue and people and nation (Revelation 4-5). As this continuing and infinite praise is being given to Jesus, we should see the importance of His place in our lives as being worthy of our praise and worship as He gave His life so that we may live through what He has done for us in redeeming us from our sins. Once we begin to realize and understand the magnitude of God’s love for us in sending His One and only Son to save us, being Himself in human form while remaining on the throne in heaven, we may then begin to open our hearts to Him and accept His love for us; and then, return it to Him with our praise and thanksgiving for and to the Savior of the world – Jesus.

Dear LORD,

It is hard for us in our finite minds to realize and understand how You can remain as God Almighty on Your throne in heaven and come to us in our form as a human and save us from the sin that keeps us from having a proper relationship with You. But in Your infinite being and omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience You are able to do whatever You desire, which is beyond our understanding. Please help us to believe in Your Word and accept it as true and just…even when we cannot rationalize it in our weaknesses. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
