Revelation 22:6

In Revelation 22:6 (NKJV) the angel says to the Apostle John, “‘These words are faithful and true.’ And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place.”

The angel declares that his words are faithful and true; that they are from the Lord. Then an important declaration is made, “And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place” (Revelation 22:6b). The angel came to show these things to the servants of God. Isn’t it ironic that those who do not believe in God do not have any knowledge of these things, or at least any belief in them.

This is a promise that the teachings of the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ is to inform those who believe in God.

The Old Testament is an example of God reaching out to humanity in His great love to rescue them from sin and proving to them that man cannot save or purify himself from sin; that more is needed – a Savior is needed. In the New Testament Jesus – the Savior of the world comes to save man from sin and give new life to all who will believe in Him. In the book of The Revelation of Jesus Christ are the happenings of the end of the world as we know it. Those who do not read the Bible do not nor will not gain this wisdom, insight, knowledge, and understanding that leads to the working of God’s Holy Spirit unto salvation in one’s life. The Bible is the living Word of God and became flesh through Christ Jesus (John 1:14).

We all can become servants of God by putting our faith in Christ Jesus as our Savior and following His teaching that we can only learn by studying the Bible. You too can be a servant of God. Put your faith in Jesus today and invite Him to live within your heart and be your guide to life – and He will!

Dear LORD,

You have given us Your Word to lead us and to guide us in this life so as to lead us to life eternal through the Word that became flesh and then died to save us from sin. Please prompt us to read and study Your Word so that we too may understand and realize the importance of Jesus Christ in our lives unto salvation. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
