Revelation 21:5

In Revelation 21:5b (NKJV) we find the words of a connection phrase which leads to the next truth to be found in this Bible study, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” In this, we see the essence of “He who sat on the throne” (Revelation 5a). As Christians we all know that God/Jesus is true and faithful, and that His words are the same. But we must not be too anxious to see what the Apostle John is going to write that we miss the important revelation found in Revelation 21:5a as He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” The New Jerusalem that is seen coming down from heaven (Revelation 21:2) and the new life that everyone who puts their faith in Jesus will experience is all made new through the almighty power of God/Jesus/Him who sat on the throne.

This is the promise that God will make “all things new” (Revelation 21:5).

In this world we see all things grow old. We see things deteriorate to a point of death. We all will experience death one day in our physical bodies. But through Jesus is eternal life – eternal spiritual life that will be new and vibrant, with no tears, pain, suffering, or death (Revelation 21:4). In this world is sin, which leads to death, but in Christ Jesus is the gift of God which leads to eternal life (Romans 6:23). Open your heart to Jesus and receive the free gift of eternal life that only He can offer. In doing so, you will find your name written in the Book of Life.

Dear LORD,

You are our Almighty Creator and Sustainer of life. You make all things new through the saving power of salvation in Your One and only Son Jesus. Please open our eyes, ears, and hearts to this promise of eternal life for all who will believe – In Christ. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
