  1. Revelation 19:19-21
In Revelation 19:19-21 (NKJV) the Apostle John is allowed to see the things prophesied in Revelation 19:11-18 come to fruition; “19And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.”
We have learned about the beast and the false prophet in Revelation 13. They are now captured and thrown into the lake of fire burning with brimstone (Revelation 19:20). In Revelation 19:21we learn the fate of the “kings, captains, mighty men, and the horses and of those who sat on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great” (Revelation 19:18) in that, they “were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse.” The final scene in this passage is that of the birds gorging themselves on the flesh of those who have been slain by the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse (Revelation 19:21).

This is the fulfillment of the prophecies of the beast, the false prophet, and all who follow them being thrown into the lake burning with brimstone and slain by the sword which proceeds from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse.

Jesus teaches us about His return in Matthew 24-25 and of those who will be wise in being prepared for His return, and of those who will be foolish and not prepare themselves in the way of the Lord. He declares in Matthew 25:41, “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels,” and He continues in Matthew 25:46, “And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” God has shown us, and continues to show us each day, His love for us in His offer of salvation to us in His One and only Son Jesus. The offer is for you and for me. The choice to receive and welcome His love into your life and into your heart is the only thing that separates those who will go into everlasting punishment or into eternal life. Choose life; choose Jesus – they are the same as Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).

    Dear LORD,
When we all stand before You there will be no excuse of “I didn’t know that You wanted to save me from sin” as Your everlasting Word teaches us of Your great love for us. It is simply our refusal to accept it that will cause us to be cast into the lake of eternal fire. Please speak to our hearts and call us to You so that we may be saved from Your eternal wrath and inherit eternal life – in Christ. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
