Revelation 16:4-7

In Revelation 16:4 (NKJV) we learn, “4Then the third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood.” As the second angel poured his bowl out on the seas (Revelation 16:3) and every living creature in the sea died removing a large portion of the food source for humanity, the third angel has poured his bowl out on the fresh water taking away drinking water from the earth. In Revelation 16:5-6 the angel of the waters declares the righteous judgment of the Lord God Almighty and confirms that the martyred souls under the altar (Revelation 6:9-11) are now seeing the Lord avenge their blood shed by those who dwell on the earth. Revelation 16:7 then declares, “7And I heard another from the altar saying, ‘Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.’”

This is the pouring out of the third bowl of the wrath of God on the earth.

Wherever you may live around the world you may or may not eat a lot of fish or creatures from the sea (Revelation 16:3), but the disciples of Jesus and the surrounding areas of that of the ministry of Jesus in the Bible relied heavily on the sea for food. Many of the stories of Jesus involve fishing or feeding fish to the multitudes (Matthew 14:13-21, 15:32-39; John 21:1-14). In this region of the world the sea was a vital food source; it is now gone through the pouring out of the second bowl of God’s wrath on the earth, and the fresh water for drinking is taken away by the third bowl of God’s wrath on the earth (Revelation 16:3-4). Food and water have been taken away from those who remain on the earth. God’s wrath on the earth to those who have remained disobedient to Him is becoming very real and personal to everyone that remains. Dehydration and starvation are in wait. How do we escape such an event if it were to take place during our lifetime? Open your heart to Jesus and declare Him your Lord and Savior and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead in victory over sin, death, and Satan so that you may be redeemed to the right relationship that God has always desired to have with you – in Christ.

Dear LORD,

When You release Your wrath on the earth for the disobedient who remain, Your patience will no longer be willing to wait any longer for humanity to repent. There is still time now for Your grace to abound in our lives if we will repent and turn from the wicked ways of this earth. There is still time to open our hearts to Jesus and make Him our Lord and Savior by simply asking Him with a sincere heart seeking forgiveness. You are faithful and true LORD and will not turn away one who is seeking You. Please let it be so LORD in all our lives. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
