Revelation 15:1
In Revelation 15:1 John informs us of seeing yet another sign in heaven that will be the third set of the series of sevens in revealing and releasing the wrath of God on the earth. First, there were seven seals (Revelation 5:1-8:6); secondly there were seven trumpets (Revelation 8:7-9:21, 11:15-19); and thirdly there are seven bowls of God’s wrath to be poured out on the earth (Revelation 16:2-16:21).
This is the third set of seven in the completeness of God’s wrath on the earth.
It is important as we study the Revelation of Jesus Christ that we understand that in heaven there is no such thing as time. In eternity things/happenings are better defined as being layered simultaneously and continuously together as time would show an ageing of which in heaven there is none, but simply existence. This is hard for us to imagine but important that we try as the three sets of seven in the wrath of God may be all taking place at once; it is simply documented as it is by the Apostle John so that we may understand it as an earthly written document (John 20:31). If we could read everything all at once may be a better way of gaining understanding of the eternal existence of God.
Dear LORD,
Please help us to understand that Your ways are not our ways and Your thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). But You give us enough to understand the things that we need in order to bring us to salvation in Christ Jesus. Please let it be so LORD. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
