Revelation 10:5-7

In Revelation 10:5-7 the Apostle John revisits the angel from Revelation 10:1-3 after the pause for noting that he was instructed to not write the things spoken by the seven thunders (Revelation 10:4). This mighty angel, whom we have compared to possibly being Jesus, now raised his hand to heaven and declares God Almighty of heaven to be the creator of all things in heaven, in earth, and in the sea. He then declares that there should be no longer any delay in finishing the mystery of God as He has declared to His servants the prophets (Revelation 10:6-7).

This is a declaration of the Almighty God of heaven being the Creator of all things in heaven, earth, and sea.

As Christians, we believe that God Almighty of heaven is the Creator of all things, and this is just one of the passages of the Bible that teaches this. To create all things means that God has always existed, even before time, and that being eternal, He exists in and of Himself. The Bible teaches us in Exodus 3:14 (NKJV), “And God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM.’ And he said, ‘Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” This declaration from God Himself is of always being, and as such is the foundation in which all things come from.

Dear LORD,

The Angel of the LORD called out to Moses from a burning bush in Exodus 3:2 as the bush burned but was not consumed by the fire. Jesus declared in Luke 12:49, “I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!” The mighty angel in Revelation 10:1 is described as having “feet like pillars of fire.” Your mystery will be finished at the sounding of the seventh trumpet. I pray dear God that we are all ready when that day comes as the only way to be saved is through believing in Your One and only Son Jesus as our Savior. Please help us to realize the importance of putting Jesus first in our lives so that we may begin to understand Your great love for us unto salvation for eternity. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
