Matthew 25:31

In Matthew 25:31 (NKJV) we find the words of Jesus our Lord and Savior as He declares, “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.”  Many years earlier the Prophet Daniel declared in Daniel 7:13-14,

“I was watching in the night visions,

And behold, One like the Son of Man,

Coming with the clouds of heaven!

He came to the Ancient of Days,

And they brought Him near before

Him.

Then to Him was given dominion and

glory and a kingdom,

That all peoples, nations, and

languages should serve Him.

His dominion is an everlasting

dominion,

Which shall not pass away,

And His kingdom the one

Which shall not be destroyed.”

This is a promise that Jesus will return in His glory and sit on the throne of His glory.

Jesus has given examples of servants being judged by their masters.  Now in Matthew 25:31 He teaches that He will come as Master to all in the presence of all His angels.  It is not in the glory of man that He will come, but in His glory; and He will sit on a throne not of our glory but of His glory in being the ultimate sacrifice for us so that we may be forgiven and partake of His glory with Him.  What a glorious day it will be!

Dear LORD,

The Bible is no secret; it is the number one best-selling book in the world and has been for many years.  We have no excuse of not knowing about Your great plan of salvation for all peoples and nations.  But simply having a Bible is not going to save us, we need Your help to prompt us to open it and read about our Savior Jesus – the Savior of the world (John 3:16-17).  Your words are here.  Your prophecy has been told.  Salvation awaits all who will call on the name of Jesus and believe in our hearts that You have raised Him from the dead unto victory over sin, death, and Satan.  Please open our eyes to the truth of Christ Jesus, that He is the way, and the life (John 14:6).  There is no other way, but to trust in Jesus.  In Jesus’ precious name I pray, amen.
