Matthew 13:31-32

In Matthew 13:31-32 Jesus compares the kingdom of heaven to that of a mustard seed.  While the mustard seed is the smallest of seeds, it will one day grow to be the largest plant of all the herbs allowing a place of refuge, for as Jesus states in Matthew 13:32 (NKJV), “so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”

This is an example that as the kingdom of heaven may seem small in the minds and hearts of man, one day when all is revealed, will be known as a place of refuge for all who will put their faith in Jesus.

In this earthly world where sin runs free and we strive to share the gospel to make known the reality of the kingdom of heaven, the knowledge of it may seem to be less than that which we would desire.  But the day is coming when the kingdom of heaven will be revealed in its greatness.  The size of the kingdom of heaven is large enough to hold refuge for everyone who ever has believed in God and continue to expand unto eternity, having a place for all who will open their hearts to putting God first in their lives and seeking His will above all.

Dear LORD,

The evil in this world may seem to be great, and that it is overwhelming to the knowledge of the kingdom of heaven, but we know that one day You will reveal to all the greatness of Your kingdom that will take over the world at Your Son’s return to claim all Your children that have put their faith in Him.  Thank You for Your patience and greatness that overcomes all sin – in Christ!  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
