Matthew 12:15

There was a confrontation and challenge of authority.  On the one side, pride, arrogance, and self-centeredness were forcefully striving to claim the top position.  On the other side, a kind gesture, healing, and love for others was offered freely.  Love wins!  It always does.  Love is the answer – in caring for others, in showing kindness, in showing the love that God first has shown to us – to others.

This is an example of the power of the love of God.

The Pharisees wanted to kill Jesus because His authority was greater than theirs.  But an amazing thing happens in Matthew 12:15 as we learn, “But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there.  And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all.”  He healed them all!  Great multitudes followed Him!  Why?  Because of the love of God that flowed through Him!  Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.  I’ll keep saying it over and over because it is the truth as given to us in God’s Word – the Bible.  Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6)Matthew 12:15b states, “And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all.”  Follow Jesus and He may not heal you physically, but He will heal your heart forever.

Dear LORD,

The kindness and love that You show us in Your Son Jesus, the Savior of the world, always wins.  Please help us to be reflective of this in our lives in showing the kindness and love of Jesus to all those you put in our paths.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
