Matthew 11:7-10

As the disciples of John the Baptist leave to go and give the message of Jesus to him (Matthew 11:7-10), Jesus prompts those He has been teaching to consider John the Baptist as a prophet, but even more than a prophet as John the Baptist has been given the honor of introducing Jesus, the Savior of the world, to the people of Israel.  Jesus then quotes Malachi 3:1 in reference to John the Baptist,

‘Behold, I send My messenger before

                      Your face,

Who will prepare Your way before You.’

This is a promise and example of the great privilege it is to announce Jesus to the world.

We have the great privilege to announce Jesus to the world today.  As we open our hearts to Jesus and begin seeking His will for our lives in the new life that He gives us in our salvation, a common privilege we have is to share the love of Christ Jesus with others.  God works through His Holy Spirit through our lives today to touch the hearts of others as we have been given the privilege to share the gospel – the good news of Christ Jesus and the kingdom of heaven with others.  Share the good news of how Jesus has touched your life with someone today, and He will fill your heart with a blessing of peace, joy, and love that you can find no where else but in Christ.

Dear LORD,

You have given us the privilege to announce Jesus to those in the world today, and in that, is blessings of obedience to You through our salvation in Christ Jesus and being active in showing our faith through our deeds/works as You teach us through Your Word.  Please give us the strength to stand up for Jesus and show the love You have given us with others – in Christ!  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
