Matthew 10:5-10

Jesus has prepared His closest twelve disciples (now referred to as apostles) for ministry, and He is sending them out to exercise the gifts that He has given them as we have learned in Matthew 10:1.  Jesus gives His apostles specific instructions to, “preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 10:7) which is directly related to the mission of Jesus as we have learned from Matthew 4:17.

This is an example of the power of Jesus being given to those who follow Him.

I believe that we are all called by God through salvation in His One and only Son Jesus for a purpose.  I believe that we are all called to a specific purpose that God has designed each one specifically for.  Even the least of callings from God that we may feel least importance in is a calling from God that has a specific purpose in our lives.  Jesus preached, “The kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17) and it should continue to be our mission and message today – in Christ.

Dear LORD,

The story of the Bible and how it all leads to You redeeming us back to You is truly amazing.  Please help us to read it and see it and receive it as You intend for us in believing in You and Your One and only Son Jesus, the Savior of the world whom You sent to save the world from sin (John 3;16-17).  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
