Mark 2:1-4

We learn in Mark 2:1-4 that it is not Jesus who would have difficulty in personal ministry as the crowds gather from the word spreading of His healing of the leper (Mark 1:40-45), but the difficulty of the people in need to reach Him through the masses.  But God does not make mistakes as He utilizes our mistakes to spotlight our need for Him and His healing power for us.  This paralytic, and the men with him had great faith in the healing power of Jesus, and they acted on that great faith.

This is an example of having great faith in Jesus – and putting it into action.

God used this situation to show us the faith in which we need to have in coming to Him for healing, not only physical healing, but more importantly spiritual healing of our hearts unto salvation in Christ Jesus.  We must have the faith to find a way to get through the masses of society to realize and understand our need for Jesus.  We must, in many cases, look outside the box for the way in which God is calling us to Him as God does not utilize us for the purposes in which we may feel are our strengths, but through our weaknesses.  The Bible teaches us in 1 Corinthians 1:27 that “God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;”, and in Isaiah 40:29 we learn that “He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.”

I have always had a loud, overpowering voice in which I have always felt that God would use me in the pulpit, but God works in my life through writing (something that I have never had a passion for until God introduce me to it); there is no way that I could simply read this passage, or any Bible passage, and expose these words – it is God working through His Holy Spirit in my life as He inspires these words to be typed.  My point is that it is not my loud voice that relays this message, but the quiet time typing this message that God is working His miracles in my life.  How is God working in your life?  Is it in a way in which you would least expect it?  It is through the faith such as that of the paralytic by which God works in our lives.  He wants our hearts to be sincere to Him.  Be open to how God wants to utilize you instead of the way that you want to be utilized and watch the miracles of God take place in your life – in Christ!

Dear LORD,

We know that it is not our will that You act on but Your will for our lives that we must be faithful to in Christ.  Please help us to come to You through the masses with open hearts for how You will work miracles in our lives as they might not be the miracles that we want or expect.  Please give us the faith to allow You to work through our lives in our weaknesses that You make our strengths – in Christ.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
