Mark 14:57-59

In Mark 14:57-59 the false accusations against Jesus continues, but this time, be it unknowingly, Jesus was accused of stating, “I will destroy this temple made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands” (Mark 14:58, NKJV). But these words are mis-spoken as Jesus stated in John 2:19, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” Jesus did not say that He would destroy the temple but that if they destroyed this temple (being His own body) that He would raise it up in three days.

This is a direct revealing of prophecy from Jesus coming true as they would crucify Him (destroy Him) and He would rise from the dead on the third day.

We know the rest of the story; Jesus has risen! He is alive and lives in our hearts through His Holy Spirit whom He promised to everyone who will believe in Him and follow His commands (John 14:15-18, 23, 26). The false accusations will continue, but the joy the God puts in our hearts through His Holy Spirit gives us the confidence through our faith in Him that He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through the Son (John 14:6).

Dear LORD,

The challenge we face as believers in Christ is to find a way to convince others that You are real, and that Jesus really did die to pay the penalty/price for our sins so that we may be forgiven and redeemed back to a right state in our relationship with You through Him. Please help us to relay this message to all the world so that everyone may experience the joy we feel as Christians – in Christ! In Jesus name I pray, amen.
