Mark 13:24-27
The words of Jesus in Mark 13:24-27 are reflective of the recordings of the Prophet Joel as he states in Joel 2:10 (NKJV),
“The earth quakes before them,
The heavens tremble;
The sun and moon grow dark,
And the stars diminish their
brightness.
And then, as stated in Mark 13:26-27, “26Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27And then He will send His angels, and gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven.”
This is a promise of the coming of the Son of Man to gather His elect.
As a young teen, when God first called me to put my faith in Him and allowed me to feel His Holy Spirit working in my life and calling me to Him, I will never forget the evangelist stating that Jesus would return with the clouds one day to gather all those who have put their faith in Him. Put your faith in Jesus today by professing Him your Savior and believing in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9-10), for God sent His One and only Son for this purpose (John 3:16-17).
Dear LORD,
Your Word teaches us of a day when a great tribulation will take place and then Jesus will return with the clouds to gather to Him His elect. I pray dear LORD that our hearts will be ready in sincerity and obedience to You – in Christ. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
