Mark 13:21-23

Jesus teaches in Mark 13:21-23 (NKJV), “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, He is there!’ do not believe it. 22For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 23But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand.

This is a promise from Jesus that there will be false christs that will try to deceive us.

There is an interesting biblical fact in the way God designed this world and the way in which He will judge it when Christ returns. The Bible teaches us in Genesis 2:7, “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.” And in 2 Thessalonians 2:8-12 the Bible teaches us, “And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” God brought us all into this world by His breath, and by His breath the lawless one and all who are not saved – in Christ – will be taken out of this world. It will all be finished in one breath; there will be no time remaining, as some believe, to get their lives right with the Lord; it will all be finished in one breath. Ask Jesus into your heart today and receive, in sincerity of heart, His forgiveness and blessing. Jesus teaches us in Luke 15:7, “I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.” And He continues in Luke 15:10 proclaiming, “Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” Put your trust in Jesus today, and all the angels will celebrate with you – in Christ!

Dear LORD,

We know that there are false christs and false teachers among us today. Please guide us through Your Holy Spirit to be able to discern between what is false and what is real. Please prompt us to turn to Your Word with understanding to stay on the clear path to salvation – In Christ; and please help us to make the decision in our hearts to put You first in our lives in opening our hearts to Jesus and accepting Your forgiveness as all of heaven rejoices with us as we put our faith in You. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
