Luke 21:25-28
Jesus teaches the people that there will be signs in the sun, moon, stars, and the earth that will indicate these things in which He has spoken (Luke 21), along with His return, are drawing near. Jesus says that men’s hearts will fail them in the fear of these things that are coming, but He also says (for those who believe in Him) redemption is drawing near as He will be seen coming in a cloud with power and great glory (Luke 21:27).
This is a promise that Jesus will return one day to redeem all those who believe in Him back to God.
Examples of these signs could be given in our lives and indicate that Jesus’ return is near. For those who do not believe in Him, this time is sure to be full of worry and fear of what is about to come in eternal condemnation (John 3:18), but for those who have put their faith in the saving power of Jesus, this will be a glorious time of renewal as we are redeemed back to a right standing with God and are freed from the sinful nature of this world and taken up into God’s glory (Colossians 3:4).
Dear Lord,
We ask today that You will open the eyes, hearts, minds, and souls of everyone so that we would see the importance of believing in Jesus and that we would strive each day to live for Him and share with others the great glorious love that You offer us. We ask that in that glorious day that we all would stand with Jesus in Your glory. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
