Luke 13:20-21
In this passage Jesus compares the kingdom of God to leaven, which when given time, worked through the meal until it all was leavened.
Jesus came to save the world from sin, but as He did His part on the cross in paying the penalty for the sins of humanity, time is needed for everyone to realize the importance of what He did for us until the day when every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:8-11).
This is a promise that our relationship with God through salvation in Jesus requires time and growth to reach maturity.
When we answer the call of the Lord on our lives by accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior and put our faith (trust) in Him, we do not automatically know everything there is to know about God or our relationship with Him; it is a growing process that requires time and our dedication and submission to Him as He gradually reveals His Word to us. As we grow in our relationship with God and share the gospel with others, the leaven of the kingdom of God is spread throughout the world. One day every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:8-11). It is my prayer that when this realization comes to pass, that we all will have made this realization as children of God (John 1:12-13) and that our names will be found in the book of life (Revelation 21:27).
Dear Lord,
Please help us to see that a relationship takes two, and that a relationship with You requires our involvement as well as Yours. Please help us to see the importance of having a daily time set aside for prayer with You, study of Your Word, and fellowship with others in growing in our relationship with You. Jesus died for us with His arms open. Please help us to see that a hug takes two, and that we would reach out to Jesus and embrace Him in our lives to bring You all the glory. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
