Hebrews 9:23-28
Because of the requirement of blood and the death of the testator to implement the covenant/testament/will (Hebrews 9:16-18) and that the earthly things were made by the hands of man, which are a copy of the true things in heaven (Hebrews 9:23-24), the heavenly requirement must also be met with a better sacrifice than that offered by man/the sacrifices in which the High Priest offered at the temple. Christ did not enter the earthly temple to present His sacrifice in the Most Holy Place to be in God’s presence as did the earthly High Priest once a year, but Jesus entered the presence of God in the Most Holy Place in heaven and was seated at the right hand of God – not once per year, but for eternity – once for all (Hebrews 9:28; Romans 6:10; 1 Peter 3:18). Christ came once to take all sin to the cross and make the acceptable payment to God for sin. He will come a second time to take all who put their faith in Him to their heavenly home in salvation for eternity out of sin (Hebrews 9:28).
This is the covenant/testament/will of the true heavenly temple in Christ.
God gave us a picture in the flesh of what the spiritual eternal life in Him was meant to be for all humanity, in a relationship with Him that if we bring Him glory in this world through believing in Him and following His guidance, He will give us eternal glory in Christ.
Dear LORD,
Please open our eyes, hearts, minds, and souls that we would understand this great message of salvation in Christ Jesus and find our place in Him that will take us to eternal glory in heaven. Please help us to put aside the sinful ways of this world and open our hearts to Jesus – the way, the truth, and the life that is the only way to eternity in heaven with You (John 14:6). In Jesus name I pray, amen.
