Hebrews 1:3b

John 1:1-4 (NKJV) states, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.  In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.”  Continuing in John 1:14 (ESV), “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

This is an example and promise of the power of God’s Word in/as His only begotten Son Jesus.

Jesus is the living Word of God in the flesh.  Jesus holds all things together and is in all things as nothing has been made that has been made without being made through Jesus (John 1:1:3).  Jesus is the bread of life (John 6:35).  Jesus is the light of the world (John 8:12, 9:5).  Jesus is the door (John 10:7).  Jesus is the good shepherd (John 10:11, 14).  Jesus is the resurrection and the life (John 11:25).  Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).  Jesus is the true vine (John 15:1, 5).  These seven verses are the “I AM” verses of Jesus that ties Him to the “I AM” statement of Almighty God in Genesis 3:14 as He spoke to Moses.

It is the words of Jesus in which we strive to follow as believers.  It is the instruction through Jesus’ words that we base our new lives of forgiveness in Christ Jesus.  Jesus never came into this world to change or destroy the words of the prophets of the Old Testament but to fulfill them (Galatians 5:14).  Jesus proclaimed in Matthew 5:17 (NIV), “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.”  Jesus is the answer to all our questions; to all our issues of life; to all our struggles of life.  Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).

Dear LORD,

Jesus is the glue that holds all things together.  He is the Word become flesh and the fulfillment of the Law of the Old Testament.  Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to You LORD except through Him.  He died for our sins that we might be set free from them and be reunited to You through Him.  Thank You for sending Your one and only Son to save the world from sin.  Please help us to believe in Him.  In Jesus name I pray, amen.
