Hebrews 11:31
The story of Rahab is found in Joshua 2. She was the enemy, but after she heard of the power of God, she believed and was saved from the wrath of God (Joshua 2:10-12).
This is an example that God will receive all who will believe in Him and save them from His wrath.
Rahab was not living a “Godly life” as we know from the description of her in Joshua 2:1. But when she heard of God, she believed in Him and His almighty power (Joshua 2:9-13). She asked of His saving grace to be on her and deliver her from certain death. Further evidence of God’s blessing on Rahab is found in Matthew 1:5 which is the genealogy of Jesus. If you think that God would never work through your life because of past sins, use this as an example to you that God can use anyone and everyone, including you, to accomplish His plans – in Christ.
Dear LORD,
You have shown us through Your word that anyone may and can be used by You to accomplish great things – if we will believe in You and Your mighty power to save us from the effects of sin and give us a new life – in Christ. Please help us to have faith in You to set us free from sin, and to have confidence that You can and will work wonderous things in our lives through our faith in You. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
