Ephesians 1:10

In Ephesians 1:10, the word “that” teaches us that this verse is directly related to the event leading up to it. We find something interesting in Ephesians 1:3-14 that I would like to share with you, and that is the information that we glean from this passage of Scripture. In speaking of Jesus, the Apostle Paul states, He chose, in Him, before Him, by Jesus Christ to Himself, His will, His grace, He made, in Him, His blood, His grace, He made, His will, His good pleasure, He purposed in Himself, He might gather together, in Christ, in Him, In Him, of Him, His will, in Christ, His glory, In Him, in whom, who is, His glory.” In the first chapter of the Apostle Paul’s letter to the church at Ephesus is an astounding direct application to the works that Jesus did for us to redeem us back to God.

This is an example of what we will be a part of if we accept Christ as our personal Lord and Savior.

This is the fulfilling of the promise of salvation in Christ by God’s grace through faith.

To read through Ephesians 1:3–14 gives us a great focus on Jesus. These verses are a direct reflection of the Apostle Paul’s own words in Acts 26:16 as he quotes the words of Jesus calling him to ministry. He says that Jesus told him that He would “make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you.” Jesus works the same way in our lives as He reveals to us things that we have learned from our lift experiences in gaining wisdom, knowledge, insight, and understanding. He uses these things to help us grow in our relationship with Him and to share with others so that we all can continually learn and grow – In Christ.

Dear Lord,

We don’t know exactly how things are going to be when our Savior returns to gather all things in heaven and earth to Him, but we do know that it could be at any time. Please help us to be ready to be gathered in that group – “in Christ.” Please fill us with the urgency to live our lives in accordance with the teachings of Christ, to be an example of Christ in us to others, and to share the gospel of Christ to everyone. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
