Luke 12:10

Jesus explains to His disciples that the Father God Almighty in heaven sent Him to be the propitiation for sin, that He was sent to open the door to forgiveness for humanity (John 10:7,9; 1 John 2:2; 1 John 4:7-11). The Holy Spirit is the gift that we receive when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior (John 14:15-18, 26). Jesus teaches that to blaspheme the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. This is because if one blasphemes the Holy Spirit, he or she has obviously not accepted Jesus as his or her Lord and Savior because when we accept Jesus, we are welcoming His Holy Spirit to live within us as our guide to life. One who believes in Jesus will welcome His Holy Spirit with open arms from the moment of salvation and seek His guidance being led by His Holy Spirit which lives in us from that day forward.

This is the proof of where one’s heart stands in relationship with Jesus: to receive His Holy Spirit is salvation, to deny His Holy Spirit is condemnation.

Two words are good for describing Jesus; love and forgiveness.  Jesus is the love of God manifested in the form of man to be the propitiation for all sin, that we might receive forgiveness through Him (1 John 2:2; 4:7-11). Jesus is all about love and forgiveness, that’s why He came to earth. But as Jesus offered and proved His great love for each of us when He died on the cross for our sins, He waits patiently for us to accept His gift to us. To be complete, love must be accepted as well as given; it cannot be forced. Jesus died with His arms open wide as He offers His embrace to us, but a hug takes two. It’s the greatest hug you will ever receive!

Dear Lord,

My prayer today is that we all would embrace Your love for us each day. That we all would make a commitment to seek Your will for our lives each day. Please open our eyes, hearts, minds, and souls so that we would understand the importance of embracing Jesus and receiving Your gift of Your Holy Spirit to live within our hearts unto salvation. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
