Luke 4:14-15
Jesus has overcome all temptation, and His reward is being filled with the “power of the Spirit” (Luke 4:14). He is now prepared in His “humanly” side to make the “spiritual” connection to humanity in His teachings. And He was “glorified by all” (Luke 4:15b).
This is the power of the Spiritual God beginning work in and through the man Jesus.
This is a great example of the God-man Jesus representing His “spiritual” side and His “human” side.
When we overcome temptation, God rewards us with a “spiritual” gift that is felt in our heart and soul. This is a joy that cannot be experienced unless you have put your trust and faith in Jesus. Temptation cannot be overcome without Jesus. If one is living a life in sin, temptation is a way of life. In overcoming temptation, one must first repent (turn) from a life of sin and sincerely strive to live a new life; a new life in Christ Jesus who died for us in His purity that we may live through His righteousness. The words of Jesus in John 14:6 says it all, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Dear Lord,
Your reward to us for overcoming temptation far exceeds anything that we could ever experience on earth. It is Your Holy Spirit that fills us with the joy of Christ Jesus. Thank You so much for salvation in Him and the gift of filling our hearts with Your Holy Spirit as we confess our sins to You, repent of them, and begin following Your will for our lives as You lead us. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
