Philippians 3:7-11

Jesus declared in Matthew 10:39 (NKJV), “He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.” With the indwelling of God’s Holy Spirit at the conversion of Paul/Saul (Acts 9), God filled Paul with the knowledge of Jesus in preparation for sharing the gospel with the Gentiles. Paul states in Philippians 3:7-11, “7But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. 8Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is from God by faith; 10that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.” Jesus declared in John 11:25, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

This is an example of gaining the knowledge of Christ Jesus that comes through faith in Him unto salvation that initiates the change in our hearts, minds, and souls to lose our desires for the things of this world and gain everlasting righteousness – In Christ.

The question is simply this: “Do you believe this?” as Jesus stated in John 11:25 after He declared that He is the resurrection and the life. One of the most controversial verses in the Bible is John 14:6 as Jesus states, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” This is also a Bible verse that you must realize and understand in faith through salvation in Christ Jesus to be saved. It is through what Jesus has done for us in taking all our sins to the cross and dying to sin once for all that makes us free from sin and allows us to be dead to sin and alive in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:10-11).

Dear LORD,

Please fill us with the knowledge of Jesus Christ so that we may have the mind of Paul in a desire to count the things of this world loss and the things of Christ Jesus gain unto salvation and righteousness – In Christ. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
