Jude 24-25
In Jude 24-25, in the benediction of this letter to the churches throughout the circulation in the early days of the Church. As Jude has spent much of his words in this letter warning of the false teachers that lead people away from God and our Savior Christ Jesus, he ends this letter with praise to God as he declares in Jude 24-25 (NKJV),
“24 Now to Him who is able to keep you
From stumbling,
And to present you faultless
Before the presence of His glory with
Exceeding joy,
25 To God our Savior,
Who alone is wise,
Be glory and majesty,
Dominion and power,
Both now and forever.
Amen.
This is a promise that God alone is in ultimate control, and He alone is able to keep us from stumbling and present us faultless in Christ Jesus with exceeding joy (Jude 24-25).
There are false teachers in the world today as Jude has given us a fair warning to be aware of such people, to not be led astray by them. But Jude also realizes and understands the importance of leading a positive life for Christ Jesus, and desires to make sure to end this letter on a positive note, giving praise to God. Our God and Savior who is alone wise, full of glory and majesty and dominion and power should fill us with joy in our hearts as He is able to keep us from stumbling and present us faultless before the presence of His glory (Jude 24-25).
Dear LORD,
It is by Your almighty power and grace that our hearts are filled with joy. Please keep us from stumbling and present us faultless – In Christ. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
