Titus 2:15

In Titus 2:15 (NKJV) The Apostle Paul encourages Titus to, “15Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.” The things Paul is speaking of are the teachings he has been giving Titus in this letter; for the men and women of the church, both young and old; for the elders and the qualifications to be an elder of the church; and to not show favoritism but that everyone is created equal in the eyes of God and everyone may receive God’s grace through His Holy Spirit in the lives of all who will believe in Him.

This is a command to teach and enforce the things which are proper for sound doctrine in the church (Titus 2:1–15).

We learn each week from the sermons that God puts in the hearts and minds of the priests and pastors He has called to lead us in the Christian faith. These lessons are intended to be the continuing refreshing guidance of God through His Holy Spirit working in our lives and in reflection of the words of the Apostle Paul as he wrote to Titus in Titus 2. This is a continuance of the command of Jesus as He gave the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19–20, Mark 16:15, Luke 24:46–47, John 20:21, and in Acts 1:8 as Jesus said to His disciples, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Dear LORD,

I fear these words are used simply as covers for our lives and not truly sought after as making up the sincerity of our lives as Christians in the Church. Please help us to strive to be proper representatives of Christ today in sobriety, reverence, temperate, sound in our faith, in our love for You and for each other, and to be patient in all things while teaching good things to each other in Christ (Titus 2). Please help us to strive to be the people that You desire us to be over the people we desire to be. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
