2 Timothy 2:11–13 (part 2, verse 12)
2 Timothy 2:12 (NKJV) states,
“12 If we endure,
We shall also reign with Him.
If we deny Him,
He also will deny us.”
Jesus declared in Matthew 10:32–33, “therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven, But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.” In 1 John 4:8 the Bible teaches us that God is love. To accept love in its purest form, beyond our comprehension of a love so pure, is to accept God and to deny ourselves in seeking pure love that never fades. Jesus said in Matthew 16:24–25, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”
This is a promise of life in Christ Jesus.
Jesus stood up for us when He took our sins to the cross and was crucified for us, to pay our price due to sin. He did the work, we reap the benefits. We should be honored to stand up for Jesus and proclaim our salvation through Him. This is one of the main reasons we are publicly baptized – to profess our faith in Jesus our Lord and Savior. When we stand up for Him, He will bless us for doing so.
Dear LORD,
In this faithful saying from the Apostle Paul is the doing of being a Christian. It is standing up for Christ and sharing Your love in a world that is desperate to receive it. Please give us courage through Your Holy Spirit working in our lives to profess Jesus to everyone, everywhere. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
