2 Thessalonians 1:1-2
As we begin our study of the second letter that the Apostle Paul wrote through the guidance of God’s Holy Spirit to the church at Thessalonica, I greet you, as did Paul, with “2Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Thessalonians 1:2, NKJV). It is equally important to note that the words of this letter are written to those “in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Thessalonians 1:1).
This is an example of a proper greeting between Christians.
“2Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Thessalonians 1:2) is a greeting that we all would benefit from if we would use it today as a blessing to our loved one in Christ Jesus. The grace and peace of God are two things that we, as Christians, have in our lives but need to be reminded of each and every day of the blessings we have from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Let us rejoice and be glad of the salvation we have in Christ Jesus – and share the blessing to one another.
Dear LORD,
We all need Your grace and peace in this hustle and bustle world. Please help us to slow down for a moment each day and take in the blessings You have given us in Christ Jesus, and prompt us to share them with one another – in Christ. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
