1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
The Apostle Paul has taught about living in the light of Christ Jesus and moving out of the darkness of the sinful nature as we check our attitudes and actions towards ourselves and others. Walking in the light of Jesus is a celebration as Paul instructs in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NKJV), “16Rejoice always, 17pray without ceasing, 18in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
This is an example of a daily routine that will lead us all to a closer walk with God through salvation in Christ Jesus.
Some people have a rejoiceful attitude; some people are prayer warriors; some people are always giving thanks; but some people have difficulty experiencing these three elements of Christianity in their lives. This earthly world is tough, and it is difficult for us all from time to time to grasp being rejoiceful, thankful, and to not let prayer slip by unattended. Some people struggle with these things daily, finding it hard to grasp any of these things ever. From my experience and understanding I will say that if you will follow these three things, you will find yourself experiencing them all more and more – In Christ.
Start by spending time in prayer each day, this will help you become more thankful and will show you the things you are thankful for; this, in turn, will help you develop a rejoiceful heart which will become reflected in your attitude toward yourself and others. It starts with opening your heart to Jesus and letting Him in as your Lord and Savior.
Dear LORD,
For some it is difficult to have a rejoiceful moment as the worries and anxieties of this world attack and hold them down. I pray today for those who struggle in this that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit and give them strength in Christ Jesus to call on Him in prayer and thanksgiving to bring them a rejoiceful heart which will break the chains that this world holds them in. Bring healing to their lives and rejoicing to their lips – In Christ. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
