1 Thessalonians 1:6-7 (Part 1)

In addition to the encouragement the Apostle Paul gave to the congregation of the church at Thessalonica, he continues in 1 Thessalonians 1:6-7 (NKJV), “6And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit, 7so that you became examples to all in Macedonia and Achaia who believe.” In becoming followers of Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy is to adhere to their teachings as was given to them from the LORD as He is the beginning of all things, including the inspiration of Paul’s ministry group in relaying the gospel. It is not the ministry group of Paul that the Thessalonians are following, but the LORD God and His One and only Son Jesus Christ from whom the message of the gospel came.

This is a promise and example of the true message of the gospel being shared by inspiration of God.

The ministry of the Apostle Paul is defined in Acts 9:15 as the LORD spoke to Ananias to help Paul during the time in which Paul was blinded for three days in Damascus and converted from a persecutor of Christians to the new leader of the gospel in being preached to the Gentiles. The LORD declared to Ananias (Acts 9:15), “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name’s sake.” Paul declares in Colossians 1:27-29, “To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.”

Dear LORD,

“The riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles” as the Apostle Paul states, is the promise and living example of Your true message of the gospel to all people for salvation in Christ Jesus. Paul declared the message of the gospel as inspired by You in Galatians 3:26-29, “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Please let it be so in all our lives LORD. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
