Revelation 22:18-19

The words of Revelation 22:18-19 are spoken by the Apostle John as a testimony to the authenticity of the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ and they speak for themselves (NKJV), “18For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

This is a promise of the authenticity of the words written in the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

Many people believe in the words written in the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ and the Bible as a whole. Many people believe in some parts of the Bible and not so much in other parts. The truth is that God does not desire that we be half-hearted Christians, but that we put our full trust in Him – even in the parts of the Bible that we may not fully understand or grasp. God is in control even when we are not. God has come to this earth to pay for our sins so that we may be forgiven of them and live with Him – in His glory forever! We must not take away from the teachings of the Bible, and we must not make it more than it is for us to learn. That is the goal: to live an obedient life to God through salvation in His One and only Son Christ Jesus, and to strive to follow His ways and teachings as we apply these lessons to our own lives. We may fall from time to time; that is because we are fallible humans in need of the forgiveness that only God can give – and He will pick us back up and continue leading us forever – in Christ, as long as we put Him first.

Dear LORD,

We love You. We need You. We praise You. Please help us, forgive us, and lead us, even when we fall away from Your will for our lives – that You would seek us and lead us back to You and forgive us for our sins. That You would pick us back up and cleanse us from sin and help us to see that You are God Almighty, and that You alone are our Creator and Sustainer of life – forever. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
