Revelation 21:26-27
Revelation 21:26 (NKJV) states, “And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it.” The glory and honor of the nations is found in those who are seeking the will of the LORD in their lives. This includes all nations and those who are in the leadership of the nation. Only those who have been saved and find their names written in The Lamb’s Book of Life will be able to enter the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:27).
The whole reason that the gates in the New Jerusalem will be left open is because only those who are found righteous in and through Christ Jesus will be allowed to enter. The LORD Speaks through the Prophet Isaiah in Isaiah 60:11-12, “Therefore your gates shall be open continually; They shall not be shut day or night, That men may bring to you the wealth of the Gentiles, And their kings in procession. For the nation and kingdom which will not serve you shall perish, And those nations shall be utterly ruined.”
This is a promise that the glory and honor of all nations of the world, even the Gentile nations, will come into the New Jerusalem.
The glory and honor of the nations is only found in the righteousness of Christ Jesus. It is through Him that we gain righteousness, not of ourselves, otherwise we may become boastful and prideful. The Apostle Paul declares in Ephesians 2:8-10, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” In the New Jerusalem, the righteousness of Christ Jesus that is found in all who put their faith in Him as Savior of the world will be all that is there; there will be not need to shut the gates because only the righteousness of God will be there. . . from every nation under God in His righteousness.
Dear LORD,
The glory of the nations through those who are indwelled by Your Holy Spirit through opening their hearts to salvation in Christ Jesus will be in the New Jerusalem. Please speak to our hearts so that we all may be there – In Christ. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
