Revelation 20:1-3

In Revelation 20:1-3 we find that the dragon/the Devil/Satan is bound by an angel from heaven and thrown into the bottomless pit for a thousand years. This is the millennial period in which the devil will be powerless as is according to God’s great plan of salvation for humanity. But we also learn in this passage that the devil will be released once again after the millennial period is complete.

This is a promise of Satan being bound and thrown into the bottomless pit for a thousand years.

To live during a period of a thousand years in which Satan will be bound and powerless would be an awesome experience, but as we will see, this time is reserved for a special people in Christ. But we all can gain strength from this passage as an angel of God bounds the devil, which shows us that the power of God is more powerful than that of Satan. When we find ourselves in a tough place as the devil tempts and tries us, we can have confidence in Christ – we can turn our focus from the struggles of this world and put our focus on Jesus to help us in times of need. He loves us and died to save us from sin. . . He will most definitely rescue us when we call on His name – the saving name of Jesus.

Dear LORD,

We long for the day when Satan will be powerless and we will no longer be subject to the trials and tribulations of this world. We thank You for Your great power and strength that we can call on the name of Jesus to render the devil powerless over our lives as Jesus is our strength and our renewed life. We love You LORD. Thank You for saving us from sin. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
