Revelation 17:12-14
In Revelation 17:12 we are informed about the ten horns on the beast that the woman is riding. These ten horns are kings that have no kingdom but will receive power and authority for one hour. Revelation 17:13 (NKJV) states, “13These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.” Revelation 17:14 teaches that these kings will give their power and authority to the beast as they wage war with the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them, “for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful (Revelation 17:14).”
This is a description of the ten kings represented by the ten horns on the beast in which the woman is riding.
This is another way in which the devil mocks God as the ten kings are of one mind and give power to the beast, just as the followers of God are of one mind. The Apostle Paul teaches, “Be of the same mind toward one another” (Romans 12:16). The difference is that being of one mind in Christ is showing love and a caring heart for one another as Jesus states in John 13:34-35, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” Jesus also teaches about the mind of the devil in John 8:43-44 declaring, “Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” Let us all be reflective of Jesus and let His light shine in our lives.
Dear LORD,
Being of one mind is only good if our minds are one together in the decency of being moral good. The devil tries to lead us away from You with the glam of this world, but it only leads to lies and deceit which is at the heart of the devil and away from being morally good. Please help us to focus on Your great gift of love in Christ Jesus that we would not be deceived by the devil but be strong in Christ. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
