Revelation 11:15-19

In Revelation 11:15-19 the seventh trumpet is sounded after the opening of the seventh seal from the scroll that the Lamb has taken from the right hand of Him who sits on the throne of heaven. A great celebration begins as loud voices in heaven were saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become as declared in Revelation 11:15 (NKJV), “the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” The loud voices making this declaration may be the lightnings, noises, and thunderings as described in Revelation 11:19. We learn in Revelation 11:16-18,

16And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17saying:

“We give You thanks, O Lord God

Almighty,

The One who is and who was and who

is to come,

Because You have taken Your great

power and reigned.

18            The nations were angry, and Your

wrath has come,

And the time of the dead, that they

should be judged,

And that You should reward Your

Servants the prophets and the saints,

And those who fear Your name, small

And great,

And should destroy those who destroy

the earth.”

Revelation 11:19 declares, “19Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail.”

This is the sounding of the seventh trumpet after the seventh seal was removed from the scroll that the Lamb has taken from the right hand of Him who sits on the throne of heaven.

2 Samuel 22:14-15 declares,

“The LORD thundered from heaven,

And the Most High uttered His voice.

He sent out arrows and scattered

them;

Lightning bolts, and He vanquished

them.”

The voice of God is heard today in the thunder, lightning, and noise made when a storm passes by. To hear the billows of the thunder as the storm approaches is reflective of the mighty power of God and of the power in His voice. The next time you hear the thunder and lightning, contemplate that it is only a reflection of the power of the voice of God when He speaks; and to think…God is speaking…we should listen.

Dear LORD,

To learn that we can actually hear Your voice in the thunder and lightning is an awesome thing to contemplate; that You actually speak through the heavens in giving us a warning of what is to come when You release Your wrath on the earth. Please touch our hearts LORD and save us from Your wrath. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
