Revelation 5:8-10

The Lamb of God has taken the scroll from His right hand and a celebration breaks out in heaven. The four living creatures had been singing a song:

“Holy, holy, holy,

Lord God Almighty,

Who was and is and is to come!” (Revelation 4:8, NKJV),

but we learn in Revelation 5:9 that after the Lamb (Jesus) took the scroll from the right hand of God, the four living creatures sang a new song:

“You are worthy to take the scroll,

And to open its seals;

For you were slain,

And have redeemed us to God by Your

blood

Out of every tribe and tongue and

people and nation,

                   And have made us kings and priests

to our God;

And we shall reign on the earth.”

Also, the twenty-four elders (Revelation 4:4) have joined in with the four living creatures as they all fall down before the Lamb and sing together as they all hold, “a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints” (Revelation 5:8).

This is an example of the importance of the role of Jesus, having fulfilled His purpose/mission on earth in being the Redeemer of “every tribe and tongue and people and nation in being worthy to take and open the scroll held in the right hand of God.

The Bible teaches us in Philippians 2:5-11, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Dear LORD,

Please open our eyes, hearts, minds, and souls so that we may receive this great proclamation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world (John 1:29). In Jesus name I pray, amen.
