Revelation 4:6-8

In Revelation 4:6-8 (NKJV) we learn that there was a “sea of glass, like crystal” in front of the throne of God. This is the surface in which these events around the throne of God take place. This crystal floor would reflect the brilliance of the color scheme in the jasper, sardius, and emerald, and the reflection of the full spectrum of the rainbow around the throne (Revelation 4:3). We are also informed that “in the midst of the throne” (Revelation 4:6b-8), “were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back. 7The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. 8The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying:

“Holy, holy, holy,

Lord God Almighty,

Who was and is and is to come!”

This may very well be the “voices” coming from the throne as we learned in Revelation 4:5.

This is an example of the constant praise God is worthy to receive.

The splendor of God’s throne is growing verse by verse as we learn more and more about God’s majesty. We should all sing:

“Holy, holy, holy,

Lord God Almighty,

Who was and is and is to come!”

Dear Lord,

Your throne is a place of reflection that we find hard to fathom in its magnificent array of color and brilliance. Please help us to remember each day to stop, take a moment, and praise You simply because You alone are worthy. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
